Roberts Wesleyan was led by Alex Bianchi who had a team-high three points on a goal and two assists. Keith Keehn played the full 60 minutes in net and made 16 saves in a losing effort.

Mercy, playing just their second road game of the year, found themselves in a low-scoring affair as the two teams combined for just 12 goals on the day. The game remained scoreless until 3:18 left in the first quarter when Stockton found the back of the net off an assist from Speicher to give the Mavericks a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed 1-0 after the first quarter as Keehn made three saves in the closing minutes of the period to keep Mercy off the board. Nearly half of the second quarter would go by before Speicher netted his seventh goal of the season to put the Mavericks up 2-0 with 8:15 left in the half. The Redhawks finally got on the board with just under three minutes left in the period and the two teams headed into halftime with Mercy up 2-1.

The second half saw the Mavericks come out firing but Keehn made four saves to start the third quarter to keep the game at 2-1. Following a pair of Mercy penalties, the hosts took their first lead of the game, 3-2, on a pair of man-up goals with 9:15 remaining in the third quarter. However, the Mavericks were not going to go down without a fight and Chillianis, Stockton and Wilcox ensued with three straight goals less than three minutes later to give Mercy the lead back for good at 5-3 with 6:19 left in the period.

The score remained 5-3 after the third quarter, but Wilcox and MacSpadyen changed that early in the fourth quarter as they scored a pair to increase the Mavericks lead to 7-3 with 11 minutes left. Roberts Wesleyan then scored just over a minute later to cut the Mercy lead to 7-4. However, Schneider came up with crucial stops down the stretch and allowed just one goal the rest of the way to seal the win for the Mavericks.

Mercy outshot the Redhawks 39-32, while Roberts Wesleyan held a 19-15 edge in groundballs. Mercy went 3-of-7 on man-up opportunities, while the Redhawks went 3-of-4.

Head Coach Jordan Levine and the Mavericks resume action on Tuesday, April 5th, hosting Dominican in an ECC matchup at 3 p.m.
