Stevens Tabbed ECAC Softball Division II Rookie of the Week

Box Score 2 DANBURY, Conn. (Apr. 6, 2016) – Mercy College softball freshman Kaylee Stevens (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) has been named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Softball Division II Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 3.

Stevens excelled both at the plate and in the circle for the Mavericks, batting a team-high .538 on the week while pitching to a team-best 2.17 ERA in two appearances. The freshman finished with two RBIs, four runs scored and picked up the win in the Mavericks win over Goldey-Beacom on Friday. The highlight of the week at the plate came on Saturday at STAC, where the freshman went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in game two. Stevens pitched a complete game against Goldey-Beacom with three earned runs allowed in five innings to pick up her second win of the year.
The award is the second earned by Stevens this season and is the seventh earned by the Mavericks this season.
