Game 1: NYIT 5, Mercy 4
The opening game of the day saw NYIT jump out to a 3-0 lead in their first at bat as they recorded a pair of RBI doubles and used a Mercy error to take an early lead.
The score remained 3-0 until the top of the sixth when Gross hit a two-run home run to center field that scored Lloyd to cut the deficit to 3-2. The Bears responded with a two-run home run in the bottom half of the inning to bring the score to 5-2.

Mercy put runners on first and third with two outs after a senior Janelle Wade (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) walk and a Lloyd single. However, a groundout to shortstop would end the threat giving NYIT the game one win.
