Game Preview: Volleyball Faces Le Moyne and New Haven on Saturday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2019) – The Mercy College volleyball team resumes action on Saturday, October 12th when they play Le Moyne and New Haven at New Haven.

Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy is 3-2 in their last five matches and is coming off a 3-0 loss to ECC foe Molloy on Wednesday. The Mavericks are led by senior Imani DeBose who has a team-high 208 kills, which ranks her second in the ECC. Junior Adriana Lopez-Soto is third in the ECC with 255 digs and is fifth with 3.98 digs per set. Junior Natalia Garcia is third in the ECC with 7.71 assists per set and is third with 501 assists. Sophomore Selma Vulic is a four-time ECC Rookie of the Week recipient and is second on the team with 134 kills and 173 digs. Sophomore Loreto Nunez Casal is coming on strong having led the team in kills the last two matches and is third on the team with 109 kills this season.

Scouting the Dolphins

Le Moyne enters Saturday's matches on a two-match winning streak and will face New Haven before facing the Mavericks on Saturday. The Dolphins earned a 3-1 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Saturday in their last match and are led by Mary Talty who has a team-high 140 kills. Emily Mosack leads the team with 148 digs and Emily Yancone paces the team with 282 assists. Jacquelyne Ghindia is second on the team with 123 kills and Claire Hiwiller is second with 138 digs.

Scouting the Chargers

New Haven takes a five-match winning streak into their match against Le Moyne on Saturday. The Chargers are coming off a straight-set win over Bridgeport on Wednesday and are led by Ruby Fera who has a team-high 126 kills and is second with 162 digs. Julia Guarniere leads the team with 233 digs and Angela Chan is first on the team with 325 assists. Kali Greathead is second on the Chargers with 120 kills and Mallory Nowicki is third with 115 kills.
