Game Preview: No. 1 Seed Men's Soccer Hosts No. 4 Seed Molloy in ECC Championship Semifinal on Wednesday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 11, 2019) – The No. 1 seed Mercy College men's soccer team will host No. 4 seed Molloy College in an ECC Championship Semifinal matchup on Wednesday, November 13th at 1 p.m.

Mercy earned a 3-0 victory over Molloy on Saturday, October 5th at Mercy Field.

Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy is the top seed and ECC Regular Season Champion for the second straight year and will look to earn their first ECC title since 2004. The Mavericks are making their third straight appearance in the ECC Championship and fell in the Final last year. Mercy is led by senior Ignacio Mangada who has a team-high 22 points on a team-high eight goals and six assists. Senior Santiago Corral is second on the team with 17 points on seven goals and three assists. Senior Maximiliano Rebolledo-Camus has 15 points on five goals and five assists and sophomore Archie Jones has four goals and five assists. Senior Gaston Rozenblum has a team-high eight assists and junior Joel Serrano is 10-3-2 in goal with 28 saves, a .737 save percentage and 0.66 goals against average.

Scouting the Lions

Molloy is the No. 4 seed and is making their first appearance since 2016. The Lions only ECC Championship came in 2008. Molloy enters Wednesday's game on a six-game winning streak and is 7-3-1 away from home. The Lions are led by Anthony Cestaro who has a team-high 24 points on eight goals and eight assists. Carlos Bonilla has 19 points on seven goals and five assists and Paul Morales has 14 points on six goals and two assists. Sergio Peralta is 6-2 in goal with 54 saves and Dennis Mejia is 5-3-1 in goal with 61 saves in ten starts.

The winner of Wednesday's game will face the winner of Bridgeport/Roberts Wesleyan in the Championship Game on Saturday, November 16th.
