Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy looks to pick up their first win of the season and is coming off a loss to Felician on Wednesday. The Mavericks are led by redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who was named to the ECC Honor Roll this week and is averaging a team-high 25.0 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. The forward is shooting 59.6 percent from the floor and 62.5 percent from downtown. Junior Nakeem Hamilton is second on the team with 13.0 points per game and is averaging 4.5 rebounds per game. Junior Dayvon Cuffey is putting up 11.0 points per game with 8.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore Dondre Barnes is averaging 8.0 points per game and junior Matthew Alectus has averaged 7.3 points per game in three games.
Scouting the Eagles
Post opened their season with wins over Southern Connecticut and Bridgeport on Friday and Sunday. The Eagles are led by D.J. Jarrett who averages a team-high 22.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game on 50.0 percent shooting. Devonte McCall produces 12.5 points per game and a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game. Marcus Johnson rounds out three averaging in double figures with 10.0 points per game on 70.0 percent shooting.
