Mercy advanced to the ECC Final after defeating No. 4 seed Molloy 1-0 on a senior Manuel Achondo goal on Wednesday. The Mavericks have reached the ECC Championship Game for the second straight year and will look to win the championship for the first time since 2004. Mercy is led by senior Ignacio Mangada who has a team-high eight goals and 22 points with six assists. Senior Santiago Corral is second on the team with seven goals and 17 points and senior Maximiliano Rebolledo-Camus has 15 points on five goals and five assists. Senior Gaston Rozenblum leads a defense that has allowed just 12 goals this season and has an ECC-best eight assists with one goal .Junior Joel Serrano is 11-3-2 in goal with 31 saves, a 0.62 goals-against average and .756 save percentage.
Scouting the Purple Knights
Bridgeport defeated Roberts Wesleyan 2-0 on Wednesday to advance to the ECC Final. The Purple Knights have made their first ECC Championship appearance since 2015 and look to win a conference championship for the first time since 2001. Bridgeport is led by Leandro Avila who has a team-high 25 points on 11 goals and three assists. Nikolai Vadseth has 14 points on five goals and four assists and Goncalo Mendes and Yoel Salvador both have 12 points on five goals and two assists. Carlos Tofern is 9-4-1 in goal with 48 saves and a .814 save percentage in 14 games.
