Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off a 99-77 loss to Post on Saturday and have opened up their season with four straight losses. The Mavericks have been led by redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who is third in the ECC with 22.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. The forward is shooting 54.8 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from downtown. Junior Nakeem Hamilton is second on the team averaging 13.3 points per game in three games. Junior Matthew Alectus rounds out three Mavericks averaging in double figures with 11.3 points per game and is coming off a career-high 23 points at Post on Saturday. Junior Dayvon Cuffey is posting 9.5 points per game on 51.7 percent shooting with 7.5 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Setters
Pace was selected fourth in the Northeast-10 Southwest Division Preseason Poll and has opened their season with three straight wins. The Setters are coming off a 97-55 win over Concordia on Saturday and have been led by Peyton Wejnert who is averaging a team-high 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Brandon Jacobs is recording 15.7 points per game and a team-high 6.0 assists per game. Bryan Powell rounds out three Setters scoring in double figures with 11.7 points per game and is second on the team with 10.0 rebounds per game.
