Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters the 2019-20 season picked ninth in the ECC Preseason Poll after falling just shy of making the ECC Tournament last season. The Mavericks look to make it back to the ECC Tournament for the first time since 2015-16. Returning for Mercy is redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who was named Second Team All-Region, First Team All-ECC and First Team All-Met after posting a team-high 20.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Also returning is junior Matthew Alectus who averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season. Third-Year head coach Michael Maczko also brings in a strong six-member recruiting class to the fold as the Mavericks look to get back to the ECC Tournament.
Scouting the Penmen
Southern New Hampshire is picked fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division after just missing the postseason last year. The Penmen look to make it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016-17. Leading the returners for the Penmen is Eamonn Joyce who was second on the team with 15.8 points per game last season. Shawn Montague also returns after recording 13.0 points and a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Chargers
Dominican is picked first in the CACC North Division after recording 24 wins a season ago. The Chargers won the CACC Championship last season and earned an NCAA Tournament win over Merrimack. Leading the returners for Dominican is Daraja Rodwell who averaged a team-high 15.9 points per game last season. Tavon Ginyard also returns after scoring 13.7 points per game a year ago. Jonathan Garcia will also return after posting 8.5 points per game on 50.9 percent shooting.
