Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy is currently on a two-game losing streak and is coming off a 71-52 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in their ECC opener on Thursday. The Mavericks are led by redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who is averaging a team-high 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game with both ranking in the top five in the ECC. The forward is also shooting 53.1 percent from the floor and has a team-high 1.8 blocks per game. Junior Nakeem Hamilton is second on the team with 12.1 points per game and is coming off a season-high 24 points against the Spartans on Thursday. Hamilton has scored in double figures in five of seven games he has played in this season and is averaging a team-high 2.0 assists per game. Junior Dayvon Cuffey is averaging 7.0 points per game and freshman Brandon Wilson is coming off a career-high ten points against St. Thomas Aquinas.

Scouting the Warriors

Nyack snapped a three-game losing streak their last time out against Felician on Saturday with a 79-73 win over the Golden Falcons. The Warriors are led by graduate student Perris Hicks who is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game and is making a team-high 2.7 three-pointers per game. Sophomore Joel Bailey is second on the team with 13.3 points per game on 50.6 percent shooting and leads the team with 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Senior Kennith Ford and graduate student Thomas Nolan round out four Warriors averaging double figures in points, putting up 11.2 and 10.1 points per game, respectively.
