Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy opened the season with a pair of wins against Nyack and Post in the season-opening Long Island Invitational. The Mavericks look to start 3-2 for the first time since 2013 and are led by senior Imani DeBose who was named to the ECC Honor Roll after recording a team-high 48 kills last week. Sophomore Selma Vulic was named ECC Rookie of the Week after recording 46 kills and 44 digs and junior Adriana Lopez-Soto leads the team with 76 digs in four matches. Junior Natalia Garcia dished out a team-high 121 assists with 38 digs in the four matches.
Scouting the Chargers
Dominican began their 2019 season with losses to Southern Connecticut State and Queens on Friday. The Chargers were led by senior Mykalee Chambers who had a team-high 13 kills in the two matches with a team-high four blocks. Freshman Dawn Brassow has a team-high 21 digs and senior Sara Hayward paces the team with 21 assists. Senior Deanna Knopf has contributed 12 kills and 14 digs in two matches.
