WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 29, 2024) – Mercy University women's basketball junior Jaclyn Stanavich (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam) and sophomore Angelina Barrera (Gloucester City, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Honor Roll for Week 11.
Stanavich averaged a team-high 20.5 points per game on 51.5 percent shooting with 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The junior opened the week with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting with six rebounds, two assists and two steals at Staten Island on Wednesday. The forward ended the week with 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 67-50 win over UDC on Saturday.
Barrera averaged 12.5 points per game and a team-high 11.5 rebounds per game to go along with 1.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds at Staten Island and ended the week with 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 67-50 win over UDC.
The award is the seventh earned by Stanavich this season and the fourth for Barrera. Mercy has now earned 17 awards on the year.
Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, January 31st when they play at Queens at 5:30 p.m.
