DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2025) – Mercy University women's basketball sophomore Grace Lesko (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) has been named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention for games played Feb. 17-23.

Lesko averaged a team-high 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 3.5 steals per game to go with 2.5 assists per game on 65.2 percent shooting as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with a team-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the 77-47 win over Queens on Wednesday. The Mavs forward ended the week with a game-high 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting with a game-high 12 rebounds to go with three assists, three blocks, and five steals in the 65-58 win over Molloy on Saturday. 

The award is the 13th earned by Lesko this season and Mercy has now earned 35 awards on the year.

Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday when they play at STAC at 2 p.m.
