COLONIA, N.J. (Mar. 6, 2025) – Mercy University women's basketball sophomore Grace Lesko (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-ECC, junior Angelina Barrera (Gloucester City, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) has been tabbed First Team All-ECC, sophomore Amani Abuhatab (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) has been named Second Team All-ECC and senior Jaclyn Stanavich (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam) was named Third Team All-ECC, as announced by the conference office earlier today.

The four Mavericks helped lead Mercy to a 17-9 record during the regular season and the No. 3 seed in the ECC Championship, securing a spot in the Semifinals after their 73-49 win over UDC last night.

Lesko was named ECC Rookie of the Week five times and Player and Defensive Player of the Week once and led all ECC rookies in scoring (11.2), field goal percentage (41.2, 107-for-260), and rebounding (6.5) while adding 31 steals and 18 blocks on the year. The sophomore scored in double figures 12 times in her rookie campaign, including in 11 of the last 14 games of the season. Lesko had six double-doubles and scored a career-high 30 points in the win over UDC on January 11th.

Barrera is named All-Conference for the first time in her career after being named ECC Defensive Player of the Year last season. Barrera was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week once this season after averaging 13.3 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting with 6.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. The forward has three double-doubles on the year and recorded a season-high 21 points against Assumption (12/1), UDC (1/11) and STAC (1/25).

Abuhatab receives All-Conference recognition for the first time in her career. The sophomore ranks third on the team with 12.7 points per game on a team-best 50.0 percent shooting with 5.6 rebounds per game. The guard scored in double figures in 17 games and had two double-doubles. Abuhatab scored a career-high 23 points in the win at Caldwell on November 23rd.

Stanavich is tabbed All-Conference for the second straight year after being named First Team All-Conference last season. The ECC Preseason Player of the Year averaged a team-high 13.7 points per game on 45.0 percent shooting with 5.3 rebounds and a team-high 1.8 steals per game. The guard scored in double figures in 14 games and had a season-high 23 points in the win at Post on December 21st.
