COLONIA, N.J. – The East Coast Conference (ECC) has recognized five Mercy University teams and 213 student-athletes for their academic success. Baseball, men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball, and women's lacrosse earned ECC Academic Team of Excellence, and a school-record 213 student-athletes were tabbed to the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The ECC Academic Team of Excellence Award is presented to the team with the highest cumulative grade point average in their respective sports.
Mercy men's soccer earns the award for a conference-leading seventh consecutive year, posting the highest cumulative GPA of all ECC men's soccer teams with a 3.62 GPA. Mercy women's lacrosse recorded the highest cumulative GPA of all ECC women's lacrosse teams with a 3.75 GPA. Women's Lacrosse earns the award for the fourth straight year and fifth time overall. Women's Basketball takes home the award for the second time and for the first time since 2024 after posting a 3.77 GPA. Mercy baseball and men's basketball both receive the award for the first time and have 3.44 and 3.25 GPAs, respectively. The athletic department has now earned 23 Academic Team of Excellence Awards.
Student-athletes on the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher to be included. The 213 Mercy honorees are:
