COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Soccer freshman Roslyn Almodovar (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for Week One and junior Hailey Metzger (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) has been tabbed to the Honor Roll.

Almodovar recorded her first collegiate goal and assist in Mercy's 4-2 win over Goldey-Beacom on Sunday.

Metzger had a team-high five points on two goals and an assist as #25 Mercy went 2-0 on the week to open the season. The junior scored a goal in the 2-0 win at Edinboro on Thursday and ended the week with a goal and an assist in the 4-2 win over Goldey-Beacom on Sunday.

The awards are the first for both this season and for the Mavericks.

Head Coach Jack Nicholson and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they play at Chestnut Hill at 7 p.m.
