COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Soccer senior Femke Demets (Avelgem, Belgium/University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, and junior Anneliese Becker (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) has been tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week for Week Three. Freshman Elizabeth Crawford (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) has received Honor Roll recognition.
Demets scored her first collegiate goal in the Mavericks' 4-2 win at Dominican on Wednesday and helped lead a Mercy backline that posted a shutout in the Mavericks' 0-0 draw against 2025 NCAA Tournament participant and regionally-ranked Jefferson on Saturday.
Becker went 1-0-1 on the week with six saves, a .750 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average. The junior opened the week making one save in Mercy's 4-2 win at Dominican on Wednesday. Becker ended the week with a game-high five saves to earn the shutout in the Mavericks' 0-0 draw against 2025 NCAA Tournament participant and regionally-ranked Jefferson on Saturday.
Crawford scored a goal in Mercy's 4-2 win at Dominican on Wednesday.
The awards are the first for Demets, Becker, and Crawford this season. Mercy has now earned five awards on the year.
Head Coach Jack Nicholson and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they play at Pace at 7 p.m.
