Morgan O'Donohue

Morgan O'Donohue enters her third season as head coach in 2020. 

In 2019, O'Donohue led the Mavericks to four wins during their first year as members of the Northeast-10 Conference. The highlight of the season came on September 17th when they defeated 2018 NCAA Final Four participant Pace with a 1-0 win at Mercy Field. Mercy was also named a 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Squad and had 15 named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and two named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. Freshman Alyssa Sacco was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team and seniors Rebecca Podskoch and Sabrina Anderson were tabbed to the NE10 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team. 17 Mavericks were named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll.

In her first season at the helm, O'Donohue led the Mavericks to six wins and the ECC Tournament Championship with a 1-0 win over Molloy. Mercy was named a 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Squad after posting above a 3.0 team GPA during the Fall semester. The Mavericks also had 12 named to the NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad and two named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. 

"Coach O'Donohue is one of the top young up and coming coaches in field hockey. She was very successful as a high school and college student-athlete and most recently as a high school coach. We are looking forward to her bringing the program to new heights," stated Kilcullen.

"I am looking forward to joining the Mavericks as Head Field Hockey Coach. I am confident that my passion, experience, and knowledge of the game will contribute to a successful program. The team has built up momentum after achieving their school record number of wins under Coach O'Neill's leadership. They have been working hard in the offseason and are excited to come back stronger than ever for this upcoming fall," commented O'Donohue.

O'Donohue brings experience to a program that has won a school-record seven games each of the last two seasons. The native of New City, New York has served as the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Nyack High School since 2014, earning Section I Field Hockey Coach of the Year in 2016. O'Donohue also served as the Vice President of the Field Hockey Coaches Association for Section I Field Hockey. During her time at Nyack, O'Donohue developed and utilized practice plans in a safe and comfortable learning environment and evaluated student-athletes in order to create improvement plans based on individual and team goals.

The graduate of SUNY New Paltz also serves as a Field Hockey Coach at the Rye Academy Field Hockey Club since 2015. O'Donohue organizes field hockey clinics in Rockland and Westchester Counties and coaches teams from various levels including U12, U14, U16, and U19.

O'Donohue has also been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2013 at The Gym in Montvale, New Jersey. O'Donohue assesses client's fitness ability and demonstrates proper and effective form during exercise and develops and implements personalized exercise training programs to help clients achieve personal goals or rehabilitate injury.

O'Donohue is a USAFH Level I Field Hockey Coach and is a NYPHSSA Certified Field Hockey Coach. O'Donohue played field hockey at SUNY New Paltz for four years where she helped lead the Hawks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance and SUNYAC Championship title in 2012. O'Donohue led the team with 12 goals and 25 points, and finished fourth overall in the conference in goals and placed sixth in points. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychobiology in 2013.
