Mercy University Athletics

Hanken Tjostheim had another strong month in November and is named Student-Athlete of the Month for the second time this year. The junior had a team-high two goals and four points during the month with one game-winning goal as Mercy went 1-1 during the month, advancing to the ECC Championship Semifinals. The forward scored two goals in the Mavericks’ win over St. Thomas Aquinas on November 2nd. Hanken Tjostheim tied the single-season school record for goals in a season (22) and ended the season leading the team in goals, assists (6) and points (50). The junior was named ECC Offensive Player of the Year, D2CCA First Team All-Region and First Team All-ECC. He was also named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and recorded his 100th career point during the month. Hanken Tjostheim ranked second in Division II in goals per game (1.29), third in points per game (2.94) and fourth in goals and points.
