Mercy University Athletics

Newham had an outstanding month of April, batting an impressive .485 (49-for-101) with a team-high 33 runs along with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs and 17 RBI as Mercy went 19-9 during the month. The outfielder started all 28 games during the month and ended the month on a 12-game hitting streak. The junior began the month on an eight-game hitting streak going 4-for-7 with a run in Mercy’s doubleheader at Molloy on April 4th. The one-time Player of the Week during the month also went 6-for-9 with an RBI at LIU Post on April 7th. Newham then went 3-for-7 with a home run and RBI in Mercy’s sweep of Bridgeport on April 8th. The junior also hit a home run against St. Thomas Aquinas and LIU Post and went 5-for-7 with four runs and four RBI in the Mavericks sweep of NYIT on April 26th. The outfielder ended the month with a 3-for-6 day against Bloomfield with three RBI and three runs.
