Ortiz Sanchez finished off his first season as a Maverick batting .357 (5-for-14) with two RBI, a double, a triple and a run scored in four games. The junior opened the month by going 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI against Bridgeport on May 3rd. The second baseman then went 2-for-6 in a doubleheader at Bridgeport on May 4th before concluding the season by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and double in the season finale against Bridgeport on May 6th. Ortiz Sanchez currently has a 3.534 GPA as a Sports Management major and ends the season batting .288, ranking second on the team with 31 RBI.
