Kirkland continued his strong play in the month of January. The senior averaged 10.7 points per game on 37.2 percent shooting from downtown in six games during the month. The guard opened the month with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown against Roberts Wesleyan on January 6th. The senior then had nine points on three made threes at St. Thomas Aquinas on January 11th. Kirkland then recorded seven points at Molloy on January 18th before producing a month-high 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting overall and 4-of-9 shooting from downtown against Queens on January 21st. The guard netted seven points against Staten Island on January 25th before scoring 13 points with four rebounds at UDC on January 28th in the Mavericks final game of the month.
