The opening set saw the Clippers jump out to a 7-4 lead, but the Mavericks battled back and went on an 8-3 run to take a 12-9 lead. Concordia responded by tying the set up at 13-13. However, Mercy followed with five straight points to take an 18-13 lead after a Loreto Nunez Casal (Pontevedra, Spain/Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) kill, leading to a Clipper timeout. Out of the timeout, Concordia made it 18-17 with four straight points, but the Mavericks would close out the set with seven straight points to take the first set, 25-17.
Mercy took a 6-0 lead in set two and held a 14-6 lead, forcing a Concordia timeout. The Clippers cut the deficit to 15-10, but that would be as close as they could get as the Mavericks ended the set on a 10-3 run to earn a 25-13 set two win.
The Mavericks built another 6-0 lead in set three after a Nunez Casal kill and increased the lead to 12-3 after back-to-back kills from Vazquez. Concordia made it 14-6 after a Bianca Ortiz ace, but Mercy would respond with an 11-4 run to close out the set and match following a block from Vazquez and Partridge.
