Scouting Mercy
Mercy was selected for the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history and are coming off a year in which they went to the Final Four for the first time in school history. The Mavericks enter the tournament with a 12-3-1 mark and advanced to the ECC Tournament for the sixth straight year. The Mavericks last faced Saint Rose in 2015 and last played the Golden Knights in the NCAA Tournament in the East Region Final in 2014. Leading the Mavericks on the year is senior Haley Noble who has a team-high 12 goals and 25 points on the year. The senior was named First Team All-ECC and is the program's all-time leader in goals, assists and points. Senior Rebecca Conway leads a Mercy defense that allowed just 12 goals so far this season and she was named ECC Defensive Player of the Year after recording three goals and seven points. Sophomore Melissa Torres has been solid in net for the Mavericks with a 12-3-1 record and an ECC-best 0.69 goals against average and .838 save percentage.
Scouting Saint Rose
Saint Rose is making its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 17 years and has won at least ten games in each of the past 19 years. The Golden Knights advanced to the NE10 Championship Tournament Semifinal where they lost to eventual champion Franklin Pierce. Saint Rose is led by junior Nina Predanic who received NE10 All-Conference honors and leads the conference with 40 points and is tied for the lead in goals (15). Junior goalkeeper Marika Laurendeau, junior back Nia Brown and freshman back Viviana Sebastiano each earned NE10 All-Conference recognition and helped lead a defense that only surrendered 22 goals.
Scouting Bridgeport
Bridgeport is making their tenth trip to the NCAA Tournament with all coming in the last 12 years. This year also marks the fifth time that the Purple Knights have hosted the First and Second Rounds. Bridgeport won the ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, but dropped a 2-1 decision to Mercy on September 22nd. Junior forward Maegen Doyle leads the Purple Knights with 23 goals and 49 points and was named ECC Offensive Player of the Year. The junior leads an offense that has scored 58 goals this season. Bridgeport is also led by ECC Rookie of the Year Anisha Hill who had seven goals and two assists.
Scouting Stonehill
Stonehill is making their second ever NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2016. The Skyhawks qualified for their tenth NE10 Tournament and have eight shutouts this season. Stonehill is led by junior Kaitlin Brown who was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year after averaging 1.22 goals against and tallying 98 saves in 18 games. Camryn Thompson was tabbed Rookie of the Year as she led the offensive attack with 24 points as a freshman. She led the team in goals (9) and tied for first in assists with six.
