Pasols then followed with a two-RBI single through the right side that scored Garcia and Carpenter to get the Mavericks within two. Mooradian singled in the next at bat to put runners on first and third but a groundout to second would end the threat.
Barton increased their lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh when Ricks Dearing doubled and later scored following two wild pitches. Mercy inched closer in the top of the ninth when Sadallah brought home Josue Perez (Bronx, N.Y./Monroe College) from second, but a fly out in the next at bat would end the game.
