Game Preview: Women's Basketball Hosts Nyack on Saturday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 22, 2019) – The Mercy College women's basketball team resumes action on Saturday, November 23rd when they host Nyack College.

Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy currently has their first two-game winning streak since the 2017-18 season and are looking to win three straight games for the first time since 2014-15. The Mavericks are led by junior Amber Brown who leads the ECC with 19.6 points per game and was named to the ECC Honor Roll earlier this week. The junior also averages a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game and is shooting 51.5 percent from the floor. Freshman Katie Wall was named ECC Rookie of the Week and is second on the team with 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The guard also has a team-high 4.0 assists per game and is shooting 42.3 percent from downtown.

Scouting the Warriors

Nyack enters Saturday's game off a 70-57 win over Mansfield on Tuesday. The Warriors have been led by senior Kyla Given who is averaging a team-high 18.0 points per game with 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game on 45.9 percent shooting. Junior Jasmine Cruse is second on the team with 12.3 points on 70.0 percent shooting and is averaging a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.

Mercy resumes action on Tuesday, November 26th when they play at Caldwell at 5:30 p.m.
