Game Preview: Women's Basketball Hosts Post on Wednesday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Dec. 2, 2019) – The Mercy College women's basketball team resumes action on Wednesday, December 4th when they host Post University.

Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy enters Wednesday's contest on a four-game winning streak and is looking for their first five-game winning streak since the 1988-89 season. The Mavericks are coming off a 96-89 double-overtime win over Caldwell last Tuesday. Mercy is led by junior Amber Brown who was named to the ECC Honor Roll earlier this week and is 12 points shy of 1,000 for her career. The forward is averaging an ECC-best 20.4 points per game and is fourth in the ECC with 7.7 rebounds per game. Freshman Katie Wall is a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week and is second on the team with 13.4 points per game. The guard is also third in the ECC with 4.4 assists per game and is shooting a team-best 92.3 percent from the foul line. Senior Abigail Collier was named to the ECC Honor Roll after coming off a career high in points and rebounds against Caldwell and is third on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game and is second in rebounding with 6.6 boards per game.

Scouting the Eagles

Post enters on a four-game winning streak and is coming off a 73-52 win at Queens on Wednesday. The Eagles went 14-14 last season and advanced to the CACC Tournament. This season, Post is outscoring its opponents by 21.2 points per game and is led by Taylor Williams who is averaging 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Sha'raya Haines is second on the team with 13.6 points per game and is third with 6.0 rebounds per game. Haines also leads the team with 3.4 assists per game and Tai Pagan is third on the team with 8.2 points per game. Pagan paces the team with 7.6 rebounds per game and shoots a team-best 76.0 percent from the floor.
