Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters Sunday's game on a four-game losing streak and is coming off a loss to No. 4/6 Saint Anselm on Thursday. Prior to the Mavericks four-game losing streak, they went on a six-game winning streak for the first time since 1985. Junior Amber Brown leads the Mavericks with 15.2 points per game, which ranks second in the ECC. The forward is also averaging a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game and is shooting 35.3 percent from downtown. Freshman Katie Wall is a three-time ECC Rookie of the Week and was named the department's Female Athlete of the Month earlier this week. The guard is second on the team with 12.3 points per game and leads the team with 3.8 assists per game. Wall is currently sixth in the ECC in assists per game and is third shooting 38.8 percent from beyond the arc. Senior Abigail Collier is posting 9.3 points per game and is second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game. The center is shooting 47.3 percent from the floor and leads the team in blocks per game.
Scouting the Greyhounds
Assumption is currently on a four-game winning streak and is coming off an 82-67 win over Dominican on Thursday. The Greyhounds went 14-14 a year ago and just missed out on qualifying for the NE10 Tournament. Assumption is led by senior Brianna Capacchione who is averaging a team-high 13.5 points per game making a team-high 1.7 three-pointers per game. Freshman Monica Spain is second on the team with 8.9 points per game on 43.2 percent shooting. Junior Temi Falayi is posting 8.4 points per game and is averaging a team-high 10.4 rebounds per game. Junior Meghan Reen leads the team with 4.9 assists per game and sophomore Ja'Lyn Armstrong is recording 8.7 points per game.
