Game Preview: Women's Basketball Plays at New York Tech on Wednesday

Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy enters Wednesday's game on a five-game losing streak and is looking to beat New York Tech for the first time since February 4, 2012. The Mavericks last win at New York Tech came on January 8, 2011. Mercy is currently third in the ECC with 64.9 points per game and leads the ECC in both free throw attempts (309) and makes (212). Scouting the Bears

New York Tech has won three of their last four games and is coming off an 84-70 win at Wilmington on Thursday. The Bears are currently second in the ECC allowing 54.5 points per game and are led by sophomore Ketsia Athias who leads the team with 11.6 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. The forward is third in the ECC in rebounds per game and is second with a 53.8 field goal percentage. Junior Meg Knollmeyer is second on the team with 10.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. The forward is currently fourth in the ECC in rebounds per game and is averaging 1.7 steals per game. Junior Shalie Frierson is third on the team with 9.7 points per game and sophomore Zoe Amalbert paces the team with 4.0 assists per game.
