Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters Saturday's game on a six-game losing streak after going on the program's first six-game winning streak since 1985. Mercy is 4-2 in their last six games against the Firebirds and earned a win in their last meeting in Dobbs Ferry on February 2, 2019. The Mavericks are coming off a 77-63 loss at New York Tech on Wednesday and currently lead the ECC in rebounds per game with 42.8. Mercy is also third in the ECC averaging 64.7 points per game and are led by junior Amber Brown who is second in the ECC with 14.6 points per game. The forward also averages a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game and has 12 games with ten or more points. Freshman Katie Wall is a three-time ECC Rookie of the Week and is second on the team with 12.5 points per game. The guard also leads the team with 3.7 assists per game and ranks third in the ECC with a 41.3 three-point field goal percentage. Senior Abigail Collier is third on the team with 9.4 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game and is shooting a team-best 50.5 percent from the floor.
Scouting the Firebirds
UDC is currently on a six-game losing streak and is winless in ECC play. The Firebirds are coming off a 77-64 loss to Saint Rose on January 3rd and last won on November 30th when they earned a 64-59 win at Nyack. UDC averages the fewest points in the ECC with 57.1 and ranks last in field goal percentage (34.9). The Firebirds are led by junior Maya Thomas who is averaging a team-high 13.3 points per game and 2.0 steals per game. Freshman Latavia Jackson is second on the team with 11.9 points per game and leads the team with 6.2 rebounds per game. Senior Tyra Coombs is posting 7.2 points per game and freshman Halia Ellis averages 6.3 points per game and a team-high 3.4 assists per game.
