DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2021) – The Mercy College women's basketball team resumes action on Saturday, February 20th when they host No. 13/17 Daemen in their home opener at 1 p.m. The Mavericks will then face the Wildcats again on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Mavericks
- Mercy is coming off a 63-46 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Katie Wall who had a team-high 15 points.
- Mercy was picked fifth in the ECC Preseason Coaches Poll in January.
- The Mavericks look to pick up their first win over Daemen since January 9, 2016.
- Mercy's last home win over Daemen came on January 6, 2014.
- Mercy will look to snap a nine-game losing streak to the Wildcats.
- In the teams' last meeting on February 16, 2020, the Wildcats came away with a 79-60 win in Amherst.
- Mercy is led by sophomore Katie Wall who is averaging a team-high 10.3 points per game with 4.3 rebounds per game. Junior Taysha Bender is second on the team with 6.7 points per game and sophomore Kellie Nudd is third with 6.0 points per game.
- Sophomore Brianna Lee had a team-high nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds at Molloy on Sunday. Lee currently leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per game.
- Mercy is currently 29th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 27.0 percent shooting from downtown.
- The Mavericks are also ranked No. 39 nationally in scoring defense (60.3) and No. 9 in fewest fouls (55) and fewest turnovers (55).
- Wall is ranked No. 42 nationally in minutes per game (35.85).
Scouting the Wildcats
- Daemen is coming off a 23-5 season that led to the program's first ECC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. The Wildcats have won 22 of their last 25 games dating back to last season and are 44-8 going back to the 2018-19 season. The Wildcats were picked first in the ECC Preseason Poll.
- The Wildcats are ranked No. 13 nationally in the D2SIDA poll and No. 17 in the WBCA Division II coaches' poll.
- Daemen is 3-0 on the road this year after going 8-3 in road games last year.
- In their last game, Daemen earned a 58-42 victory over Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday to extend their win streak to three games. Redshirt senior Tiara Filbert led the way with 13 points.
- Daemen returns 11 players overall and three starters from last year's team. Filbert was named the ECC Preseason Player of the Year after being named First Team All-ECC last year. She is currently averaging 13.3 points per game. Filbert is a one-time ECC Player of the Week this season.
- Senior Caroline White was an All-ECC performer last season and is currently leading the team with 14.6 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the floor and 53.6 percent shooting from downtown. Junior Katie Titus also averages double figures with 14.3 points per game and leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game. Titus is a one-time ECC Player of the Week and two-time Defensive Player of the Week. Junior Mickayla Ivy is a one-time ECC Player and Defensive Player of the Week.
- Daemen is ranked No. 7 nationally in scoring defense (53.0) and No. 7 in scoring margin (21.2).
