Scouting the Mavericks
- Mercy is coming off a 52-44 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Katie Wall who had a team-high 14 points.
- Mercy picked up their first win over St. Thomas Aquinas since 2009 on Wednesday and snapped a 26-game losing streak to the Spartans with the 79-70 victory.
- Mercy was picked fifth in the ECC Preseason Coaches Poll in January.
- Mercy currently sits in fifth place in the ECC standings with all teams qualifying for the ECC Tournament besides D'Youville.
- Mercy is facing D'Youville for the first time in program history.
- Mercy's last road win came on November 26, 2019 at Caldwell.
- Mercy's last road ECC win came on February 17, 2018 at Bridgeport.
- Mercy is led by sophomore Katie Wall who is averaging a team-high 11.6 points per game with 3.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore Kellie Nudd is second on the team with 8.7 points per game and leads the team with 5.1 rebounds per game. Nudd had a career-high 24 points and 12 rebounds in the win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday.
- Freshman Jamie Waldron is averaging 10.0 points per game over her last two games and had a career-high 13 points in the win over STAC on Wednesday.
- The Mavericks are ranked No. 27 nationally in fewest fouls (128) and No. 22 in fewest turnovers (122). Mercy is also ranked No. 39 in the nation in blocked shots per game (3.9).
Scouting the Saints
- D'Youville last played on Wednesday and fell to Roberts Wesleyan, 67-58.
- The Saints were picked sixth in the ECC Preseason Poll. D'Youville is making the tranisiton from Division III to Division II and is not eligible for the ECC Tournament.
- D'Youville is currently 1-6 on the year and 0-5 in ECC play. The Saints lone win came on January 31st at Clarion.
- The Saints are 0-3 at home this year.
- D'Youville went 18-9 last season as a Division III school and the Saints are led by sophomore Sara Pfeiffer who is averaging a team-high 15.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Pfeiffer is a one-time ECC Player of the Week this season.
- Junior Danielle Hore also averages double figures with 11.0 points per game and sophomore Elizabeth Bradley averages 8.1 points per game.
