Wall Named Second Team All-ECC

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 4, 2021) – Mercy College women's basketball sophomore Katie Wall (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Second Team All-Conference.

Wall becomes the first Maverick to earn All-Conference honors since Amber Brown took home Second Team honors in 2019. The sophomore becomes just the fourth Maverick to earn All-Conference honors in the last 10 years. 

The sophomore had a strong second season for the Mavericks, averaging a team-high 13.9 points per game with 3.7 rebounds per game, a team-high 2.7 assists per game and a team-high 2.2 steals per game in nine games. She also made a team-high 19 threes and shot a team-best 36.5 percent from downtown. Wall was named to the ECC Honor Roll once and was named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention once.

Wall ranked fourth in the ECC in points per game and was sixth in three-point field goal percentage. She also placed in the top 10 in assists per game and led the ECC in steals per game. The guard had a career-high 26 points with seven rebounds against D'Youville on February 27th. She scored in double figures in seven of the Mavericks nine games and had 14 or more points in each of the final four games of the season. In Mercy's first ECC Tournament game since 2009, Wall had a game-high 18 points with four assists against Molloy. In Mercy's first win over St. Thomas Aquinas since 2009 on February 24th, Wall had 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting and she posted 16 points against nationally-ranked Daemen on February 20th.
