WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Apr. 19, 2021) – Mercy College men's lacrosse senior Dominic Scorcia (Franklin Square, N.Y./Carey) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for Week Eight and junior Jake Fitzgerald (Bellmore, N.Y./Mepham) has been named Defensive Player of the Week. Junior Brady Kearnan (Courtice, Ontario/Newberry College) was tabbed to the Honor Roll.
Scorcia had a game-high seven points on a game-high six goals to go along with an assist as Mercy defeated No. 3 Mercyhurst on Tuesday. The senior recorded his 100th career goal in the win.
Fitzgerald scored a key goal in the second half of Mercy's win over No. 3 Mercyhurst on Tuesday and added a game-high three caused turnovers to go along with a ground ball.
Kearnan had four goals, an assist and one caused turnover in Mercy's win at No. 3 Mercyhurst on Tuesday.
The award is the fifth earned by Scorcia and Kearnan this season and the first earned by Fitzgerald. The Mavericks have now earned 20 awards on the year.
Mercy resumes action tomorrow when they play at St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:30 p.m.
