Eight Mavericks Named to ECC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Men's Lacrosse sophomores Cole Hunsberger (Waterloo, Ontario/Grand River Collegiate Institute), Nicholas Filocamo (Levittown, N.Y/Island Trees) and Liam Neimeth (Farmingville, N.Y./Belmont Abbey College) and junior Christopher Bergersen (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) have been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse First Team All-Conference and seniors Devon Duchnowski (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) and Matthew Magyar (Floral Park, N.Y./Wingate University), junior Cameron Dorfman (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and sophomore Trey Weinstein (Kitchener, Ontario/Newberry College) have been tabbed Second Team All-ECC, as announced by the conference office earlier today.

Hunsberger is named First Team All-ECC for the first time after being named ECC Co-Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-ECC last year. The sophomore started all 15 games and had a team-high 67 points on 31 goals and a team-high 36 assists to go with 28 ground balls. The one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USILA D2 Team of the Week recipient led the ECC in points and assists and was fourth in goals. The sophomore had a career-high nine points on five goals and four assists in the win over Bridgeport on April 22nd.

Filocamo receives All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. The two-time ECC Honor Roll recipient started all 15 games and had a team-high 21 caused turnovers with 37 ground balls, one goal and one assist. The sophomore had a season-high four caused turnovers against Assumption on February 14th and Molloy on April 11th.

Neimeth takes home All-Conference recognition following his first season as a Maverick. The sophomore played in all 15 games making 12 starts with 37 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, one goal and two assists. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient had a season-high two caused turnovers and five ground balls at Adelphi on March 25th.

Bergersen is named All-Conference for the first time in his career. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient appeared in 12 games, recording nine goals, 17 assists, 26 points and 18 ground balls. The junior ranked second on the team in assists and fourth in the ECC in assists. Bergersen had a season-high three goals in the win at Roberts Wesleyan on April 4th and a season-high three assists in the wins over Georgian Court (2/18) and D'Youville (4/25).

Duchnowski is named All-Conference for the third time in his career and receives Second Team honors for the second straight year. The senior appeared in 11 games, recording 12 goals, four assists, 16 points and nine ground balls. The two-time ECC Honor Roll recipient had a season-high three points against Adelphi, Molloy and Frostburg State.

Magyar is tabbed All-Conference following his first season as a Maverick. The senior started all 15 games and had 35 goals, eight assists, 43 points and 26 ground balls. He led the team in goals and was second in points. Magyar ranked third in the ECC in goals and sixth in points. The one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week had a season-high six goals in the win at Assumption on February 14th.

Dorfman is named All-Conference for the second time in his career. The junior started all 15 games in goal, going 9-5 with 138 saves, a .556 save percentage and 9.56 goals-against average. The two-time ECC Goalie of the Week ranked third in the ECC in save percentage, fourth in goals-against average and fifth in saves. The junior had a career-high 18 saves in the win at Wilmington on February 21st.

Weinstein takes home All-Conference honors following his first season at Mercy. The sophomore appeared in all 15 games making two starts with 40 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers, four goals and four assists. The two-time ECC Honor Roll recipient ranked second on the team in ground balls and third in caused turnovers. He had a season-high three caused turnovers in wins over Roberts Wesleyan (4/4) and STAC (4/18).
