Bergersen, Hunsberger, Filocamo and Neimeth Named USILA All-Region

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Men's Lacrosse junior Christopher Bergersen (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Third Team All-North Region and sophomores Cole Hunsberger (Waterloo, Ontario/Grand River Collegiate Institute), Nicholas Filocamo (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) and Liam Neimeth (Farmingville, N.Y./Belmont Abbey College) have been tabbed All-Region Honorable Mention.

Bergersen earns All-Region honors for the first time in his career. The junior was named First Team All-ECC after appearing in 12 games, recording nine goals, 17 assists, 26 points and 18 ground balls. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient ranked second on the team in assists and fourth in the ECC in assists. Bergersen had a season-high three goals in the win at Roberts Wesleyan on April 4th and a season-high three assists in the wins over Georgian Court (2/18) and D'Youville (4/25).

Hunsberger receives All-Region honors for the first time. The First Team All-ECC recipient started all 15 games and had a team-high 67 points on 31 goals and a team-high 36 assists to go with 28 ground balls. The one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USILA D2 Team of the Week recipient led the ECC in points and assists and was fourth in goals. The sophomore had a career-high nine points on five goals and four assists in the win over Bridgeport on April 22nd.

Filocamo takes home All-Region honors for the first time. The First Team All-ECC honoree and two-time ECC Honor Roll recipient started all 15 games and had a team-high 21 caused turnovers with 37 ground balls, one goal and one assist. The sophomore had a season-high four caused turnovers against Assumption on February 14th and Molloy on April 11th.

Neimeth is named All-Region following his first season as a Maverick. The First Team All-ECC honoree played in all 15 games making 12 starts with 37 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, one goal and two assists. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient had a season-high two caused turnovers and five ground balls at Adelphi on March 25th.
