WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Dec. 5, 2022) – Mercy College women's basketball graduate student Taysha Bender (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Honor Roll for Week Four.

Bender averaged a team-high 20.0 points per game to go along with 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The graduate student opened the week with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals at Staten Island on Wednesday. The guard ended the week with a career-high 30 points on 11-of-22 shooting with six rebounds, two assists and four steals in the win over UDC on Saturday.

The award is the first earned by Bender this season and the third earned by a Maverick this season.

Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Tuesday, December 6th when they host Chestnut Hill at 5 p.m.
