WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Mar. 4, 2022) – Mercy College women's basketball junior Katie Wall (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball First Team All-Conference and senior Taysha Bender (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has been tabbed Second Team All-Conference.

Wall takes home All-Conference honors for the second straight season after being named a Second Team selection last year. Bender receives All-Conference recognition for the first time. The duo become just the fifth and sixth All-Conference selections in the last 11 years for the program. Wall and Bender helped lead the Mavericks to their most wins since 1997 and the program's first ECC Championship berth without every team making it since 2009.

Wall had a strong junior season for the Mavericks, averaging a team-high 16.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game. The junior ranked fourth in the ECC in points per game and second in assists and steals per game. The guard also ranked fifth in the ECC in threes made (59) and was second in the ECC in free throws made (86). The two-time ECC Player of the Week scored a career-high 28 points in the win over UDC on January 15th and had a career-high 13 rebounds in the win at Bridgeport on December 19th. Wall had 11 games with 20 or more points and scored in double figures in all but six games.

Bender was a one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient after ranking second on the team with 14.3 points per game. She ranked seventh in the ECC in points per game. The guard was second on the team with 49 made threes and 1.5 steals per game. The senior scored a career-high 26 points in the win over UDC on January 15th. Bender scored 20 or more points in five games and scored in double figures in all but six games.
