WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 17, 2023) – Mercy College women's basketball senior Katie Wall (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) and graduate student Taysha Bender (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Honor Roll for Week Nine.

Wall had a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals to help lead Mercy to their first win at St. Thomas Aquinas since 1985 on Wednesday.

Bender had 12 points and a game-high five steals to help lead the Mavericks to their first win at St. Thomas Aquinas since 1985. The graduate student added two rebounds and helped lead a Mercy defense that allowed just 57 points to the Spartans.

The award is the seventh earned by Wall and the fourth earned by Bender this season. Mercy has now earned 11 awards on the year.

Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they play at Molloy at 5 p.m.
