DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 10, 2023) – Mercy College women's lacrosse sophomore Lindsey Shimborske (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II First Team All-Region and graduate student Micayla Brady (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) has been tabbed Second Team All-Region.

Shimborske is named First Team All-Region for the first time after being named Second Team All-Region last season. The ECC Defender of the Year and First Team All-ECC selection was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week five times. The sophomore had a team-high 55 ground balls, 55 caused turnovers and 83 draw controls with two goals and three assists. Shimborske set a single-season school record for caused turnovers and ranks third in Division II in caused turnovers per game. She had a career-high seven caused turnovers with five ground balls at Molloy on April 2nd.

Brady is named All-Region for the fourth time and is tabbed Second Team All-Region for the third time. The graduate student was named ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the ECC Honor Roll once. Brady started all 19 games and had 36 ground balls, 32 caused turnovers, 15 draw controls and one assist. She ranked second on the team in ground balls and caused turnovers. The defender ends her career with a school-record 166 caused turnovers and ranks in the top five in school history in ground balls.
