Lindsey Shimborske Named to CSC Academic All-America Division II Women's At-Large First Team for Second Straight Year

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (July 8, 2025) – Mercy University women's lacrosse senior Lindsey Shimborske (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Division II At-Large women's team. Shimborske earned First Team honors and is the lone student-athlete from the ECC to earn the honor.

Shimborske earns First Team Academic All-American honors for the second straight year and is named Academic All-American for the third consecutive year. The senior becomes the 17th recipient of Academic All-American honors in school history. She becomes the fifth Maverick to earn Academic All-American honors this academic year, following men's soccer's Johannes Hanken Tjostheim, Jorgen Krohn-Pettersen, Mathias Schilbred-Eriksen and Benjamin Van Buren. Shimborske becomes the first three-time Academic All-American in school history and the first two-time First Team Academic All-American.

The native of Farmingdale, New York earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the third time last month and graduated in May with a 3.99 GPA as a Health Science – Physical Therapy major. Shimborske was named ECC Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year last month and was named IWLCA First Team All-American, USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-American, IWLCA First Team All-Region, ECC Defender of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The senior appeared in and started in all 17 games with a team-high 62 ground balls, 120 draw controls and 39 caused turnovers. The four-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week led the ECC in draw controls, was second in ground balls and third in caused turnovers. The IWLCA Senior All-Star Game participant ranked No. 9 nationally in draw controls per game (7.06) and set a school record for career caused turnovers. The ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year ends her Mercy career with 392 draw controls, 219 ground balls and 175 caused turnovers in 72 games.
