DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Director of Athletics Bill Sullivan has announced the hiring of Amber Neumann as the new Mercy University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, Associate Athletic Director, and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Neumann replaces Dawn Sachs, who has served as head coach for the last 14 years.

I am beyond grateful to be named the next head coach of this impressive program, especially after all that Dawn has done and invested in Mercy Women's Lacrosse throughout her time here. Neumann joins Mercy from Pace University, where she served as an assistant coach for the last three years. During her time at Pace, Neumann helped lead the Setters to a No. 1 national ranking and an undefeated regular season in 2024. Pace also won the NE10 Regular Season Championship in 2024 and 2025, won its first NE10 Championship in 2024, advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2024 and 2025 and reached the NCAA Semifinals in 2026. She helped coach 31 All-Conference selections, 20 All-Region selections and 12 All-American selections at Pace. Neumann also helped coach the 2024 IWLCA Division II National Defender, Midfielder and Player of the Year.
While at Pace, Neumann assisted the head coach with all day-to-day operations, practice planning, drill development and playmaking in all areas of the field. She also coordinated, managed and coached the offensive unit and goalkeepers. Neumann also actively coordinated and managed all recruiting and scouting of prospective student-athletes, including evaluating and emailing recruits, managing phone calls and scheduling, planning and hosting official and unofficial recruiting visits.
Prior to her time at Pace, Neumann was an assistant coach at Lincoln Memorial University for one season. During her time at Lincoln Memorial, she assisted the head coach with all day-to-day operations and defeated two top-25 teams during the 2023 season for the first time in program history, assisting in the programs most successful season in program history.
Neumann also served as a graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg University for two seasons in 2021 and 2022. During her time there, she coached all goalies and helped guide the program to its most successful season in program history in 2022, ending the year as the national runner-up. Neumann started her collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater Georgian Court University during the 2020 season.
Neumann is also the founder and owner of Pathway Lacrosse LLC, which was created in December 2024. Pathway hosts camps, clinics and showcases to assist high school girls' lacrosse players in their recruiting processes. Since launching, Pathway has helped numerous young women with their commitments, across all divisions.
The native of Brick, New Jersey, brings a successful playing background to Mercy. She was a three-year starting goalie at Georgian Court University, where she set school records, won three CACC Championships, earned CACC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2019, was named All-Conference three times, received CACC Tournament MVP in 2017 and was a 2019 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game selection. She currently holds the program record for saves in a game (20) and excelled in the classroom, having been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Neumann graduated from Georgian Court University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education (Special & Regular Ed. K-12) with a minor in Coaching. She received a master's degree in Management and Leadership from East Stroudsburg University with a concentration in Sport Management in 2022.
