The Mavericks (8-6-2, 3-3 ECC) have dropped two games in a row and fall to the Wildcats (7-7, 5-1 ECC) for the second straight time.

Mercy was led by Becker who made four saves to take the loss. Junior Ella Brower (Huntington Station, N.Y./The College of Saint Rose) and senior Isabella Messina (Huntington Beach, Calif./Saddleback College) each had a team-high two shots on goal.

Becker made her first save of the game in the 2nd minute to keep the game scoreless. Carpenter gave the Wildcats the lead in the 15th minute following a Kylie Miranto pass after a Mercy turnover. Carpenter fired a shot from just outside the box into the upper corner of the net to give Daemen a 1-0 lead.

Mercy forced Schultz to make three saves in the opening half before Becker made another stop in the 42nd minute to keep the score 1-0. Junior Ancksu Dixon (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) missed a penalty kick in the 44th minute after being fouled in the box, keeping the score at 1-0 at halftime.

Schultz made four more saves in the second half and a Messina shot hit the crossbar in the final minute of play. However, the Mavericks were unable to tie the game and Daemen earned the 1-0 win.
