WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Mar. 4, 2024) – Mercy University women's basketball graduate student Katie Wall (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week and junior Jaclyn Stanavich (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam) was tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week 16.
Wall had 17 points and six rebounds to go with a game-high seven steals and five assists on Senior Day in Mercy's 57-52 win over STAC on Saturday; the victory gave the Mavericks a first-round bye in the ECC Tournament for the first time in program history.
Stanavich had a team-high 19 points with four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in Mercy's win over STAC on Saturday that gave the Mavericks a first-round bye in the ECC Tournament for the first time.
The award is the 11th for Wall this season and the 11th for Stanavich. Mercy has now earned 27 awards on the year.
Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday, March 9th when they play in the ECC Championship Semifinal at Daemen at 2:30 p.m.
