DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Men's Basketball sophomore Kohen Rowbatham (Slidell, La./University of New Orleans) has been named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention for games played Dec. 15-21.

Rowbatham averaged a team-high 25.5 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the floor with 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game as Mercy went 0-2 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting with four assists and two rebounds at Goldey-Beacom on Thursday. The guard ended the week with a game- and career-high 30 points with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals at Franklin Pierce on Sunday. 

The award is the fifth for Rowbatham this season and Mercy has now earned 11 awards on the year.

Head Coach Charles Marquardt and the Mavericks resume action on Friday, January 2nd when they host Southern Connecticut State at 2 p.m.
