DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 14, 2025) – Mercy University field hockey junior Rebecca McClure (Canastota, N.Y./Pace University), sophomore Madison Preston (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) and freshman Kaylise McClure (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) have been named NFHCA Division II Scholars of Distinction, as announced by the organization earlier today.
The Division II Scholar of Distinction program recognizes undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2024-25 academic year. Over 125 student-athletes were selected as Scholars of Distinction.
Rebecca McClure currently has a 3.97 GPA as a Health Science Pre-OT major. The junior was named to the NE10 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team last month. McClure was named NE10 Goalie of the Week twice this season and went 5-8 with 81 saves, a .757 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average.
Preston has a 4.0 GPA as a Biomedical Sciences major. The sophomore was named to the NE10 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team last month. Preston recorded four goals, four assists and 12 points this season, ranking second on the team in points and goals.
Kaylise McClure has a 3.93 GPA as a Biomedical Sciences major. The freshman appeared in three games and made five saves in 45 minutes of action.
