Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy is coming off a season in which they went 6-11 overall and 3-10 in NE10 play. The Mavericks look to qualify for the NE10 Championship for the second time in program history after qualifying for the first time in 2023. Head Coach Marissa Spinazzola and the Mavericks were picked 11th in the NE10 Preseason Poll. Leading the returners for the Mavericks is sophomore Charlotte Sabert who had a team-high 14 points on five goals and four assists last season. Junior Madison Preston also returns after posting four goals and four assists and senior Samantha Trickel is back after netting four goals and two assists. Graduate student Jessica Evans returns after scoring three goals last season and sophomores Madison Brefka and Jaime Stella return after combining for two goals and two assists. Senior Reagan Lane returns on defense after posting a team-high seven defensive saves last season. Sophomore Eunice Santiago is also back after recording four defensive saves. Returning in goal is senior Rebecca McClure who went 5-8 with 81 saves, a .757 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average in 13 starts. Also returning are juniors Kate Lynne Conklin and Alyssa Benvengo and sophomores Adrianna Taynor, Camryn Shea, Lilliauna Tepper and Kaylise McClure. Joining the team as freshmen are Gianna Bevacqua, Izzy Walther, Gwendolyn Smith and Gianna Felice.

The Mavericks opened their 2025 season with a 1-0 loss at Roberts Wesleyan on Friday. Senior Rebecca McClure had a game-high-tying four saves and graduate student Jessica Evans had a team-high three shots on goal. Mercy looks to improve to 2-0 all-time against the Saints.

Scouting the Saints

D'Youville began their 2025 season with a 1-0 loss to Molloy on Friday. The Saints went 6-8 last season. D'Youville has been led by Sarah Reifsnyder who has a team-high three saves. Addyson Trimbell had a shot on goal against Molloy and Chloe Burkhard had a defensive save.
