COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Basketball junior Grace Lesko (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the fourth time this season and junior Amani Abuhatab (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) was tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week 13.
Lesko averaged a team-high-tying 15.5 points per game and a team-high 9.5 rebounds per game to go with 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with a double-double by way of 14 points and 15 rebounds to go with three assists, three steals and one block in Mercy's win at #13 Daemen on Friday. The forward ended the week with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win at D'Youville on Sunday.
Abuhatab averaged a team-high-tying 15.5 points per game with 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist in the win at #13 Daemen on Friday. The guard ended the week with a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win at D'Youville on Sunday.
The award is the 18th for Lesko this season and the fourth for Abuhatab. Mercy has now earned 30 awards on the year.
Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, February 18th when they play at Queens at 7:30 p.m.
