COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Men's Lacrosse senior Matthew Magyar (Floral Park, N.Y./Wingate University) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week, and junior Cameron Dorfman (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) has been tabbed Goalie of the Week for Week One.
Magyar scored a game-high and career-high six goals in his Mercy debut with three ground balls and one caused turnover in Mercy's 13-12 overtime win at RV Assumption on Saturday.
Dorfman made 13 saves in Mercy's 13-12 overtime win at RV Assumption on Saturday. The junior made a key save at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.
The awards are the first for both this season and Mercy has now earned two awards on the year.
Head Coach Ryan MacSpadyen and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, February 18th when they host Georgian Court at 2 p.m.
