DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Women's Basketball junior Grace Lesko (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) has been named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention for games played Feb. 9-15.
Lesko averaged a team-high-tying 15.5 points per game and a team-high 9.5 rebounds per game to go with 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with a double-double by way of 14 points and 15 rebounds to go with three assists, three steals and one block in Mercy's win at #13 Daemen on Friday. The forward ended the week with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win at D'Youville on Sunday.
The award is the 19th for Lesko this season and Mercy has now earned 31 awards on the year.
Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, February 18th when they play at Queens at 7:30 p.m.
